• Election Manifesto for the Christian Democratic party in Huddinge 2026

    Our Vision for Huddinge

We, the Christian Democrats in Huddinge, present our election manifesto for 2026 with a clear ambition: to make Huddinge a safer, more family-friendly, and better-managed council. Our policies are rooted in Christian democratic values such as human dignity, personal responsibility, strong communities, and responsible stewardship of public resources. We believe in a society where freedom and responsibility go hand in hand, and where the council focuses on its core mission: delivering high-quality welfare for its residents.

Our three key promises for the council election in Huddinge:

    • Smaller group sizes in preschools and a ban on layoffs of preschool teachers
    • Higher quality and greater freedom of choice in elderly care
    • Build low-rise housing, not large-scale mass housing projects

Our four top candidates for the Huddinge council: Karl Henriksson, Gorges Barkho, Ann Lundgren and Aram El Khoury

    Safety and Security

We believe that safety is a fundamental prerequisite for freedom and quality of life. We want Huddinge to be a council where people feel secure in their homes, schools, and public spaces. We will strengthen crime prevention, act quickly against vandalism and graffiti, and improve cooperation between schools, social services, and the police. Protecting children and women is a top priority for us. We are committed to combating domestic violence, honor-related violence, sexual exploitation, and gang crime, and to ensuring that victims always have access to protected housing and support.

    Children, Education, and Youth

We believe that every child has the right to a safe, orderly, and high-quality education. We want earlier support for pupils who are struggling, stronger student health services, and closer cooperation between schools and families. We will invest in preventive measures, holiday schools, and youth initiatives that promote inclusion and responsibility. We also want to make it easier for young people to take their first steps into working life through internships and entry-level jobs.

    Equality and Family Policy

We believe in equality based on equal human worth and freedom of choice. Our focus is on practical policies that improve everyday life, particularly for women and families. We want to increase safety for women, expand opportunities for girls to participate in sports and leisure activities, and give families greater freedom to balance work and family life. The role of the council should be to support families, not replace them.

    Integration and Social Cohesion

We believe that successful integration requires both rights and responsibilities. Those who come to Huddinge should be given opportunities to become part of Swedish society, but clear expectations must also be set. Learning Swedish, participating in work or education, and respecting democratic values, gender equality, and the rule of law are essential. We want social benefits to be linked to active participation and see civil society as a key partner in building strong and cohesive communities.

    Urban Development and Infrastructure

We believe in long-term, balanced urban development that respects Huddinge’s character and environment. We want to prioritize low rise housing and garden cities rather than high-rise buildings, especially in established residential areas. Architectural quality, aesthetics, and cultural heritage matter to us. All modes of transport are important: cars, public transport, cycling, and walking should coexist without ideological bias. We will invest in well-maintained roads, better public transport, safe cycling infrastructure, and effective noise reduction.

    Environment and Climate

We believe in responsible stewardship of nature and resources. Our environmental policy focuses on practical, local solutions that make a real difference. We want to reduce food waste, improve recycling, protect nature reserves, enable solar energy, support circular economy initiatives, and ensure that urban planning is adapted to future climate challenges. Environmental responsibility must be combined with economic realism and local decision-making.

Jobs, Business, and the Local Economy

We believe that a strong business sector is essential for jobs, growth, and a well-funded welfare system. We want to lower council taxes, reduce fees for businesses, improve the council service guarantees, and strengthen conditions for entrepreneurship and small and medium-sized enterprises. The council must use taxpayers’ money responsibly, focus on core welfare services, and make better use of digital solutions to increase efficiency.

Remember to vote for the Christian Democrats at all levels of government: the Riksdag, the region, and the municipality.

If you do not have Swedish citizenship but have resided in Sweden for a minimum of three years, or if you are a citizen of an EU member state, Iceland, or Norway, you are still entitled to vote in the regional and municipal elections.
