    TOGETHER WE MAKE LUND BETTER!

The Christian Democrats want policies that create good conditions for people to live and thrive in Lund. Lund is a fantastic city with something for everyone. The Christian Democrats want Lund to be accessible to all residents. Not everyone can cycle, and the car must remain an option for those who need it. Buses must be able to access the city centre. Local businesses depend on smart policies that improve accessibility – not restrict it.

Keep Lund just the right size. “lagom”

Lund should remain a fantastic city in which to grow old. Many people want to live in their own homes for as long as possible, and the municipality must provide reliable, high-quality home care to make that possible. The Christian Democrats want mandatory and regular background checks when recruiting staff for elderly care — because our seniors deserve safety, trust and dignity. The Christian Democrats were a driving force behind free public transport for residents aged 75 and over, available throughout the day. But we want to go further. We propose lowering the age limit to 70. Lund must grow sustainably. That means stopping construction on valuable farmland. Over the past 40–45 years, nearly 15% of  Sweden’s highest-quality farmland has been lost. We take this seriously. Our farmland must be protected for future generations to supply our food needs. We also propose reducing the housing target from 1,200 to 600 new homes per year — prioritising quality and sustainability over rapid expansion.

THE CHRISTIAN DEMOCRATS ALSO WANT TO:

    • See safety wardens present in the city centre
    • Partner with the university and student organisations to strengthen safety
    • Work closely with the university to boost housing development.
    • Blend new construction with natural green spaces
    • Promote female entrepreneurship, with mentoring programs in collaboration with the university
    • See outdoor cinema at Sommarlund
